The short answer
You do not need a huge following to make money from the products you already share. ShopMy gives you one storefront where all your product links live, and brands pay you a commission when someone shops through them. I run mine as a small creator, and it has become the home base for everything I post. Here is exactly how to set yours up.
Some links in this post are affiliate and referral links. If you join ShopMy through my link, I may earn a referral bonus, at no cost to you.
What ShopMy actually is
Think of it as your own little shop. You collect the products you genuinely use and love into themed collections, things like gift guides, skincare favourites, or your most-used kitchen tools. When a reader taps through and buys something, the brand pays you a percentage. You are not selling anything yourself, stocking anything, or shipping anything. You are just finally getting paid for recommendations you were already making for free.
Step 1: Apply
Head to ShopMy and apply as a creator. You will connect the social account you post from and share a few details about your content. Approval is not instant for everyone, so get the application in now instead of waiting until you feel "big enough." You are big enough.
Use my link and you get set up right away, instead of sitting in the standard application queue.

Step 2: Build your first collection from things you already own
Do not start by hunting for products to promote. Start with your own house. The sweater you wear three times a week, the face cream you have rebought four times, the baking tools you would lend a friend. Collections built from real favourites convert, because your audience can tell the difference.
A few collections that work well to start:
- Your everyday favourites, the things people already ask you about
- A seasonal gift guide for one specific person (the baker, the new mom, the hard-to-buy-for dad)
- Your most-reposted room or outfit, product by product
Step 3: Put your link everywhere you already post
Your ShopMy link belongs in your bio, under your Pinterest pins, and anywhere you share finds. One link, every platform. That is the whole trick: instead of sending people to five different places, everything lives in one shop that is unmistakably yours.
Step 4: Check the rate before you push a product
This is the step most beginners skip. Commission rates vary a lot by brand, and a few big brands are not partners at all, which means their links earn nothing. Before you build a whole post around a product, check what that brand pays. A modest rate on something your audience genuinely wants beats a high rate on something nobody clicks.
Questions I get asked
Do I need a minimum following?
No magic number made this start working for me. What mattered was posting consistently and sharing things I actually use. Small, trusted audiences buy. Big, bored ones scroll past.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. Joining and running your storefront is free. You earn when your links sell.
Can I use ShopMy and LTK at the same time?
Yes, and I do. They are not exclusive. I wrote a full honest comparison of how I use each one here: ShopMy vs LTK: An Honest Comparison From a Creator Who Uses Both

If you have been answering "where is that from?" in your comments for free, this is your sign to stop. Set up the shop once, then let it work every time you post.

Frequently asked questions
Is ShopMy free for creators?
Yes. Joining ShopMy and running your storefront is free. You earn a commission when someone buys through your links, and the brand pays that commission, not you and not your shopper.
Do you need a lot of followers to join ShopMy?
No. ShopMy reviews each application on its own, and plenty of creators run earning shops with small followings. Consistent posting and products you genuinely use matter more than a follower count.
How do ShopMy commissions work?
Each brand on ShopMy sets its own commission rate. When a shopper buys through your link, you earn that brand's percentage of the sale. Rates vary a lot, so check a brand's rate before you build a post around it.
How long does ShopMy approval take?
It varies. Apply as soon as you are ready and draft your first collection while you wait, so you can launch the day you are approved.
Can you be on ShopMy and LTK at the same time?
Yes. The platforms are not exclusive, and many creators, me included, use both for different kinds of posts.
